Glass Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Procurement and Scheduling Manager who will be primarily responsibile for the procurement of raw materials, components and finished goods by utilizing best practices and lean methodologies to drive cost effective processes that enable revenue growth.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes, but not limited to:

  • Lead the development, planning, and implementation of sourcing strategy for all goods and materials that delivers the best value, price, customer service and efficiencies.
  • Align the purchasing strategy and plans with the overall goals of the company to rationalize supply base and achieve cost goals to ensure maximum opportunity is achieved for all purchases.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers to build trust as well as to effectively resolve issues regarding performance, timelines, product quality, delivery and commitments.
  • Proactively research and develop new supply sources, leveraging understanding of manufacturing process and materials to ensure that company is purchasing high-quality and innovative materials at favorable prices.
  • Build and maintain relationships with production outsourcing partners, negotiate service terms and ensure that agreements are fulfilled as mutually agreed.
  • Negotiate with vendors for goods and services, utilize price and cost analyses to ensure the company is receiving the best overall value and secure the best possible price and service guarantees.
  • Design and execute strategies and plans to meet short-term and long-term supply chain management/production control requirements.
  • Forecasts, plan, schedule and order for long lead time items and/or critical materials to meet production goals.
  • Establish weekly and monthly production priorities based on scheduling requirements, constraints, run rules and customer needs.
  • Work with project management to determine the most cost-efficient utilization of production resources for on time delivery and minimization of overall cost.
  • Minimize the unexpected by optimizing systems and procedures to delivery expected results.
  • Define, measure and communicate key performance indicators and supportive metrics that track the effectiveness of production planning, scheduling and manufacturing execution. Coordinate corrective actions, when needed, to drive metrics to target.
  • Recommend and lead implementation of solutions to continually improve the planning and scheduling processes, reduce lead-time, maximize adherence to promise dates, and eliminate non-value activities.
  • Partner with Project Management and Sales teams to ensure that purchasing needs are effectively forecasted and allocated to jobs.
  • Ensure project-specific financial assessments capture all corresponding development, permitting and operational cost assumptions to support accurate financial modelling.
  • Maintain and audit accuracy of data in Acumatica in a timely manner (e.g., standard costs of raw material items, material usage, reallocation of raw materials, etc.).
  • Partner with IT to launch modules within ERP to promote increased efficiencies and cost-savings measures (e.g., RFQ and quoting modules).

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations, engineering or related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in the field of purchasing.
  • Excellent organizational, written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a team and independently.
  • Ability to problem solve and provide recommendations and solutions to meet customer requirements.
  • Microsoft Office experience.
