Project Description:

The scope of this project consisted of 50,289 square feet of exterior aluminum windows, operable vents and stainless steel screens.

The installation of these windows at Woodlawn Commons is a progressive demonstration of GSI's commitment to safety and investment in industry innovation. The field crew is using a Smart Lift - which is a machine that will lift the glass via glass cups, boom the piece over safety lines and place the glass in the opening for our crew to complete installation. This saves the heavy lifting for the machine and keeps the safety lines from being removed until the window is safely installed- keeping our crew as safe as possible.

The new Woodlawn Commons is located between Woodlawn & University Avenues, just North of 61st Street, and is slated to open for the Fall 2020/21 academic year.  The facility will house approximately 1,200 undergraduate students, along with amenities, including lounges, dining areas, study rooms and outdoor spaces.
